The Director.
A Director of Football who reads your save, forms opinions, and argues with you about them.
A free mod for Football Manager 26. He sits in the game on F7, over whatever screen you're on, and he knows your club as well as you do.

What he does
Football Manager gives you a Director of Football. He has attributes, a wage and a contract. He does almost nothing. The Director makes him real.
He reads your save: your squad, your scouts' reports, the wage bill, the contracts running down, the kids coming through, who other clubs are bidding for. He forms opinions about all of it. Then you can talk to him.
He pushes back when you chase a striker who doesn't fit the way you play. He remembers what you told him the club was supposed to be, and holds you to it when you drift. And he argues the way the man in your save would: a DoF with 4 for Analysing Data talks from his gut; one with 18 for Judging Player Ability is sharper, and much harder to talk round.

Depth by position, who's ahead of whom, contracts running down, and who has nobody behind them.
Targets, judged by your philosophy
Every target scored against what your club is for, not a generic rating. A verdict on each: sign, scout first, stretch, or no. With the reason, and the reason is arguable.
The market
Deals in progress, interest and bids for your players, scout reports and assignments, spend, fees received, net spend. All from the save.
The chat
Ask him anything about the club. Terse, in character, a man speaking rather than writing.
How it works
- Copy one folder into your FM26 install.
- Play. Save whenever you'd normally save. The weekly autosave is plenty.
- Press F7.
No terminal, no Python, no spreadsheet exports, no second plugin, no pressing a key on every screen you visit. It reads the save and keeps up on its own.
It doesn't cheat
He only knows what your scouts know. If you haven't scouted a player, he hasn't seen him, and he'll say so instead of pretending. Attributes reach him through the same fog of war you play with. Nothing is read out of the game's memory; nothing hidden is revealed. Half the point of a Director of Football is that he is sometimes wrong, and you have to decide whether to trust him anyway.
Talking to him
The chat needs a way to reach a model. The Setup tab in the panel offers three, and you pick one; nothing is edited by hand.

Who's making it
One person, in the evenings, with a Crystal Palace test save that has been through more seasons than I'd like to admit. I built this because I wanted it to exist and nobody else had made it. The Reddit thread in August got 65,000 views in a few hours, which is when it stopped being a hobby.
